but I can't understand how I missed her last night... Does the event start with a banner, or something obvious ?
A pop-up window would be helpfull ! By habit i roll the farm high, so that i can have more space to manage the fields, which they are at the lowest segment of the farm. It was when i collected firewood that i realised the event started.
It's pretty darned obvious to me; my farms slide halfway down the window when a car drives up or a tent appears. It's probably a lot less obvious if you play in a window that's bigger than your farm, but even zoomed out all the way my farms are a little bit taller than the windows I use for them.
I think I agree with you, eagle owl. I dislike the pop-ups in general because they prevent me from catching the giftbags, but it would still be both easier and less annoying to dismiss a pop-up than having to reposition my farms in their windows again.
GGS tries to randomize the start times to catch us napping, to minimize the advantage from our having documented the tasks when the theme events first showed up....it was an unusual start time.

Yeah, it sucked. One of my farms was completely done before the other was halfway. I got wood only once out of four cherry harvests between them. But that's how random chance works, so... *shrug* I'm just glad the construction I'd had running yesterday finished in time for me to build an extra apple orchard before I went to bed.

Ah! You're quite right; I forgot. The trouble is I was logged out whilst sleeping and I'm pretty sure it didn't scroll immediately I logged in. I guess I'm just sore at having missed about 6 hours of thicket building.

I think cherry orchards are a waste of space and I only build them if they're required for events, then demolish them after. The cherry orchard is only 10% more profitable than the apple orchard based upon the selling prices of apples & cherries after deducting the cost of dung. In terms of the most profitable end product though, apple pie, the most profitable resturant product, is 55 times more profitable than cherry juice which is the least profitable resturant product. Apple orchards create loads more leaves & collectibles per hour.

You need to harvest your fields. Those fields will drop tracks. Collect all the tracks and your task will be done and you will get the next task. Check the spreadsheet at the top of this thread to peek what the next task will be, if you want.

My mother is playing this event on the US1 server and is stuck at 197 pawprints for the last few hours while collecting all manner of crops (special corn, roses etc), while I (on the in1 server) got through very easily. Does it have anything to do with the server?

Do you get tracks from Special seeds (i.e. special corn, wheat, etc.) and event seeds (i.e. leftover rice from asia) or just from the normal four seeds and roses?

i am on step 4 and am making pig feed in the windmill, and for 90 pig feed, i got only 9 for the task is that normal?, does it mean that i will need to get 360 pig feed and 160 cow feed and 560 chicken feed? if so, i will never be able to finish on time

Spreadsheet correction - I'm level 57 and step 4 is for 20 cow feed, 55 pig feed and 80 chicken feed.

But don't give up. You get a decent reward for each stage of the event even if you don't get the final decoration.
The events are not supposed to be easy and it may be that you won't get them all finished every time. But keep going, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get lucky with the map pieces. There is still over 4 days to go

It does. You need to start your mill the amount of times listed. For me that is 14, 31 and 43 on the Dutch server. That means I start 14 batches of 10 cow feed and that counts up to (10x14) 140 cow feed. (which is what Rhon tried to explain as well) And you will make it, you can start a level 2 mill maximum 6 times. That means you make 60 of any feed type. It will take a long time, I agree, but do not give up! Hang in there!
