It's not entirely clear from you post so I hope I'm not telling you something you are fully aware of BUT ...
the wildflowers have to be donated (or "made available"), not just harvested.

Drop rate of Fireflies for Fairy tale event this time (ending 28th Dec, 2016) is extremely low... i have TWENTY cowsheds... all level 6 or 7, and i got Fireflies only from ONE of them I was relying on this harvest to finish my event, but totally disappointed I was playing for Book6 and donated 26,000 apples but ultimately it all went down the drain. It's really really unfair. I used up 100s and 100s of my Violet seeds to get maximum possible drop rate and spent hours in front of screen producing Wet Pig Feed continuously for hours, but all my effort remained unfruitful.

Where to report and who will compensate? No one!

The higher the prize you are playing for I have noticed the lower the drop rate.  It has happened to me in the last couple of events.  It makes it tougher to win.  That is why those prizes are so wanted.  The lower level ones are easier because of new players.  (I play them for parts).

This is not true for me. I always play for the highest level. This never happened before. If ever i can't complete my event, i know that is usually due to me being busy in real-life but whenever i harvested in time, i won the deco. But this time it was totally different.

During last event, Wet Pig Feed used to give 80-84 final items, and all the buildings dropped the required items when harvested but this time, windmill gave just 20-25 fireflies and most of the buildings didn't give anything.

Why this turn of 180 degree?

magic beans don't really do anything special.  you plant them and harvest them and you sell them in the orgamic market when a customer asks for them.  I wouldn't buy them.

I meant that they were just like any other crop in that they weren't magical.  @wheeler (NL1) but you made a very good point -- they do have a very high drop rate.

I'd like to know what the heck is going on with the Fairy Tale Event during the world wide CC. I have been on the last task on my farm for nearly 2 days now and I am getting almost no fireflies, the event is almost over (10.5 hrs to go) and i still have so many to go. What The Hell GGS???? This is ludicrous. I do need to go to sleep like everyone else in the world!!!  

Please fix before time runs out so i can get my deco and all my hard work is for nothing!!! So Blardy Peed of right now Grrr.

Fireflies have a very low drop rate (25%) from fields and orchards.  The only way to reliably get a lot of fireflies is with the windmill, silo, composter and labs.  Do quick Pig Feed in the windmill when you're playing, cow feed when you're going to be away for awhile, and keep the labs busy making premium chicken or cow feed for maximum fireflies.

In just about every other event, fields usually have a good drop rate.  Not so for fireflies.

Thank you for the info, but I've tried all of them and not getting much from that this time either. Usually the silo & composter work well for me, but for some reason, not happening this time round. I just don't get it???

so far as I can see, the magic beans aren't used in anything; I don't even know how I got them.  I've been waiting to see what the deal with them is; and the same for the rice, sunflowers, etc.  Violet seeds are often rewards or Omar barters/sells using coins.  That is all the help I can offer; hopefully someone who has played the game for years can offer more useful and helpful information.  I plant roses, violets etc. to gain achievement points which have their own rewards...sometimes more seeds for the farms, sometimes $s and even sometimes decorations...never any gold though (none that I've ever seen or gotten).  Hope this gives you some ideas or is somewhat helpful.  Good planting; and good gaming.

You need to donate the wildflowers, click on the hand and you will have an option to chose how much to donate.

Mine says the entrance is closed, has since yesterday early afternoon.  However yesterday, the number was 270, not 276.  Did not have a speed round available for me last week either.
