People eat meat, if you eat meat it's hypocritical to be squeamish about the fact that someone has to kill it and process it. Religions that don't eat pig meat consider the pig to be unclean, so they are as likely to be as offended by a pig stye as by a pig processing building. If you are going to avoid things that might offend in something that isn't real (it's a game remember, the animals aren't actually real lol!) then the game should not have pigs as this may offend some Jews and Muslims, or cows as this may offend some Hindus, or any animals as this may offend vegetarians, or chickens as this may offend vegans etc. etc. I am a vegetarian btw and I'm not offended by this game having pretend animals in it, lol!

For pigs in blankets we should be able to look after a sick pig in a blanket.... (bit hyper today so excuse my craziness)

It would be nice to see something made from pigs (bacon, ham, sausage, etc)
It would require maybe a new building - a smokehouse. Also new elements like salt, honey or smoke for curing, spices for sausage, maybe apple wood for smoking, etc.
I suppose the same could be suggested for chickens & cows - grilling, maybe sauces made from sugar, onions, tomatoes, buns for hot dog, hamburgers, etc.
Then we might have to balance how many pigs, cows, or chickens to produce new litters or eggs....
just ideas...

We went through this in an earlier thread one or two weeks ago and we were worried about vegetarians, vegans and people who belong to a religion that means they aren't allowed to have meat.

That seems like a moot point since there's already egg omelets in the restaurant, no?

Yes the reason we don't get any pork is because of various religious beliefs

It's GAME not a religious or political platform!
If we're going to use that logic then there should not be pigs at all. If vegans are offended then we need to remove the milk, eggs & cheese. Maybe someone will be offended because eggs are high in cholesterol. And what about people who have nut allergies? Are we being cruel to diabetics because we can produce sugar and other such items?
Come on! It's a game not REAL food products!!!
Other games with a much higher following have butcher shops to acquire various items to produce dishes in their kitchens. So far I have not seen a religious or vegan organization boycotting Facebook's games....
These were JUST suggestions for Good Games Studios that might enhance and expand the game, not a springboard to bring back the crusades. I am NOT interested in offending anyone's beliefs -religious, life style, etc - but if a game does that then perhaps the internet is not the best place to play...
I find several player names in this game offensive, but since it's not religious or dietary I suppose that makes those OK?

it is a game indeed, but people choose to become a vegan or whatever.
But most religious people didn't choose it, they grew up like that.
There's a big difference between someone who doesn't want to eat meat and someone who's not allowed to eat meat.
and if you see an offensive name, you should report them

You're getting off topic....
Point is there is nothing wrong with the suggestion - the making of other things in the restaurant, using items that already exist in the game. If people are so thin-skinned that this suggestion is offensive, I TRULY wonder how they make it through a REAL store or restaurant (where I will wager ANYTHING they are NOT offended seeing the real thing).
Again, if such items are offensive, why are the pigs & animal products NOT offensive to these hypothetical players in the game who must be "protected"? My suggestion stands. If it offends, GET A LIFE!
And here's a hint - you don't Really have to eat or even touch or smell the stuff that's produced in this game; that's a good thing - I hate the smell of cooking cabbage! ;-)
Thanks to all for bringing the possible offenses out; but if we are offended by every thing that goes against what WE believe or enjoy, something is wrong with being in this activity (or whatever activity is offensive). If our beliefs are that strict, PUBLIC games online are NOT the proper venue.
I have VERY strong spiritual beliefs as well; but if my beliefs clash with an activity, guess which goes by the wayside. Hopefully others are that strong in their beliefs. If not the arguments made are what is moot, not the suggestion - the "problem" then, is playing this game not the items suggested.

You don't have to get all fired up dude.
This has been suggested before and this is the reason ggs gave for not doing it.
I'm just explaining it to you, and it's not off-topic, it's still about his suggestion.
and get a life? you're the one getting fired up over nothing, who should go get a life then?

It doesn't really matter. It seems like a logical direction to go in considering this is, after all, a farming game but by the looks of things I don't think GGS even knows what direction they want to take this game in. They just recently delivered an update involving gifting/pranking and now there's something revolving someone with a small campsite. Seems everything except things that revolve around (or expand on) farming are being considered.

And "Pigs in Blankets" could be an opportunity to help out at the Vet's to help sick piggies. Or a game called "5 little piggies" and it links to the story of one little piggy went to market, one little piggy stayed at home.... and so on. We can bring food to life to link with fun!!

LOL!!! Tesco's won't be pleased.....Maybe we could breed horses in our cow stables and simply not tell anyone what we are selling!

LOL...many peeps in U.S. won't get the horse and Tesco's comments...but for us few...too funny! (Seriously...in the higher lvls you'll need tons of pigs for tasks...like 6000 pigs for 20 exp and $15,000 for rewards in lvl 55, so think twice about bulldozing pens you may have now...just a thought)

I don't bulldoze pens, I need the dung for fertilizer.

Why aren't corn and pigs useful as raw materials in the gourmet restaurant? No corn on the cob (corn + butter)? No denver omelet (eggs + pigs + mixed veg + onion)? No bacon (pigs + time in bakery for smoking)?

I know this has probably been discussed already but I cant find it or see it anywhere without searching for hours ...
Pigs, I know they produce dung, but has the thought been put out there of a production facility for the actual pig itself?
when we got the nursery I was a bit disappointed we didn't get something for the pigs instead - don't get me wrong, I like the nursery, it has its uses.
but back to the pigs, maybe it could be something to make bacon? then the bacon could be added into a recipe on the restaurant side.
I know something like this takes a lot of time to make etc, but the guys at GGS are pretty great at doing what they already do, so it could be easy?
Thanks
