Topic: [32164] SUGGESTION: An interactive activity report/table/spreadsheet for all farms

[-32164] Rusty Farmer (AU1) [AU1] :: April 23, 2013, 1:52 a.m.
I've seen this in other games - an overview in the form of a table of what is happening in the game. In this case, a list of every building and field, which farm, and what is happening - is it ready for harvest, in progress, not active?

It would also be interactive - you could perform any activity via this spreadsheet rather than necessariy do it from your farm. When you click on the activity box for that building or field, you would get exactly what you would get if you had clicked on it on the actual farm. If you wanted, you could play just about the whole game using this except for buildng new things and moving things around of course and there would also be a "go to" button to jump to that building on the correct farm.

This table could be pulled up with a press of a button or maybe as part of your opening screen when you log in. It could be immediately apparent what needs to be tended to. You could also order it by columns and filter it eg: ready for harvest, no activity etc.

In light of an upcoming fourth farm, and complaints about not getting alerts for things that need tended to on another farm, this may solve these issues. You could include an option (check box) for the game to pull up this screen to alert you immediately to anything that needs looking at.

If I find the time, I'll try to design a table to show you the kind of thing I mean.

I do like the idea, but then the idea of actually having a farm would become useless.
Then it would be more like a text-based-game

It would be a choice. All games are really just a database. Graphics are the interpretation of the database.

I personally; don't like this one. I think the whole point and fun of the game is to go and click on the actual buildings on the farm. As for the other farms; I like that you have to go and check all of them, it adds to the challenge and gives you more to do.

Just my opinion though.

Would be good for use at work though so no one knows what you're doing ;)

Perhaps a simplfied version, a non-interactive summarised report, but with alerts for actions required and a jump to button. You'd still have to work the farm directly but would have easier access and be able to see the overall picture at one glance which is the whole point of this suggestion really.

Oh now it sounds better!

Are you in sales Rusty? :P

It would be awesome though if you could see all the farms at the one time and work them all in the same screen like where the village is!!

Rusty Farmer, I like your second option. As we already have the bottom bar, it could pop up in that area or next to it, similar to the Missions icon. That way, you can have it up if you want to be notified, or closed if you are not interested.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. :)

I had suggested something similar about a week ago.

[thread=61350]Possible way to check production on multiple farms[/thread]

Mine was more focused on a possible gui adjustment rather than a worksheet and as such would probably hold less info than what is being suggested here. Whatever it is, we do need something that can notify us and have quick access to without spending so much time farm jumping.
