I have to agree with the above comments, if you are determined to go for a flowery theatrical approach then I dont have a massive issue with that, however hat i do take issue with is the fact that this is your chance, your chance to sell something you have obviously worked hard on, to your playing public. Yet you say nothing?
Your players have to read and re read the thing about 3 times and even then its not exactly clear what the new feature is or exactly what it does. Now I am anything but a wordsmith I deal strictly in numbers but that said I would much prefer to read somethign like this.
Ladies and Gents, we have just launched our latest update to the game, we have added the power of relics to further enhance your buildings.
What this means is that when you go into your construction yard, you will see an additional slot next to each building type now giving 3 options. The primary slot, that uses existing crafting materials, the appearance slot that allows you to change the appearance of your buildings and add a little extra PO. And now the new relic slot.
These new relic items will further enhance the features of existing buildings in exactly the same way as the primary crafting items do.
In Phase 1 of the update you will be able to craft items that will increase food production of your Greenhouses / Graneries or farmhouses. Up to a maximum of 10 buildings can be increased in any castle. Also you will be able to craft items that fit to your bakery and will further increase your food storage. As time goes on there will be more items added that will allow you to enhance more of your existing buildings.
The new relic equipment will be crafted using the same interface however will require different crafting materials. Crafting materials will initially be available as rewards from events, the next event being samurai invasion, the new materials will be available as rewards for reaching certail levels of points in the event, but will also be available in the event shop using event currency. The new crafting items will also be avaliable to purchase in apprentice blacksmith, using the LTE currency.
New craft material will also be for sale for rubies in the armorer.
But dont worry we havent forgotton those of you that may have a mountain of unused craft material you will be able to exchange it (at a price) for the new relic craft items.
It doesnt have to be war and peace, it doesnt have to cover everything, but a clear description of what it is and how its going to work, and how we are going to be able to collect the bits to forge should really not be something we should have to be asking for. Its your opportunity to sell your new feature use it. Dont annoy your customer base and get their backs up before you even start!!!!
None of this means you cant flower up the story and pretend you live in hundreds of years ago if thats what floats your boat, as long as as well as the waffle there is a clear description of the feature included.
I have no clue why you guys think its mysterious and alluring, and is going to make your customers want to play the event even more if you hold back information about what the feature is and how it works, but i got news for you, its neither mysterious or alluring, its frustrating and annoying.

What I find really irritating (apart from lack of current availability, obviously.....), is that GGE haven't clearly stated which of the new materials will be ridiculously oversupplied
Though i'm guessing that purified water will be nearly as hard to win as sand....... though surely available for rubies if required.......

I've actually cut down my game time - and am seriously annoyed with the gibberish announcements - please - if you want to KEEP players and not LOSE them say things in a clear and concise manner !

The problem here is that with every online game I've ever encountered, they start out with a complete game thinking it will be good for a long time. Then people cap out sooner than expected and demand more. The company wants to keep these players so they have to add to the game. Adding new things gets new players and retains existing players.
Unfortunately, adding content interferes with fixing bugs and quality control. If you really want more bug fixes then you need to up the company revenue stream so they can hire more people. Not even free to play games are free. Someone has to pay.
I agree that GGS needs to have better explanations of how things work. Personally, I would add the materials and then what you need to use them. I would also maybe try making the in game help actually be helpful.
I get annoyed at the game too but dumping on Crom is rude and a waste of time. GGS isn't going to listen to him any more than they do anyone else.

Crom, I gave you a Like for actually providing useful information about where the items will be coming from.
I gave you an LOL about the teaser. If GGE thinks the majority of their players actually enjoy these, then they should share what they are drinking, smoking, or snorting because that is some awesome stuff that can totally remove you from reality.
I personally believe that everyone that applies for the moderator must be masochistic. GGE does nothing but set you up for repeated abuse and your doing a volunteer position. I wouldn't do the job for minimum wage much less for free.

To be honest, at this point I gave up on forums too, and finding out what crap they're selling on here since they started with the minecraft stories that nobody understands.
I gave up carrying what updates they are rolling out.
There is test server, and if you know when is coming, you can see the updates yourself.
Anyway, the forums are basically useless for any info. Like when the 150% and 200% offers are coming, in the last 2 announcements they said no time for those offers.
Keep it up ggs with the enchanting language from minecraft on those announcements. 👎

Keep your expectations low. What we saw on the Test Server was an "improvement" from mostly 500-800 castles to more 800-1000 ones. Okay, so, after having a look at the materials needed for one lvl 10 relic item, the one that gives +1k food, and the costs of these materials, i have calculated the cost in apprentice tokens for one lvl 10 item, and i seriously hope that they are utterly wrong. For one lvl 10 item i need 20,480 tokens. Err, what? I can, perhaps, undertsand this cost if it was for the storage item, but for +1k food? The base 14 item costs 15k, and this relic item is about as good, if not worse, soooo... why is it more expensive? People will be able to get 1 item in two seasonals, or perhaps one each seasonal. If i assume people would earn a huge 35k tokens per seasonal, it would take over 3 years to get all 70, 10 in each castle. No, thanks, to the over-priced relicus, no, thanks, to this.

Hear us we want a simple Free War Game where at the end of the day we feel like we accomplished something as a team for our time and effort.
NOT some event bought and paid for by Credit Cards. Or NEW Improved things that make it frustrating due to vague information given BEFORE they are introduced.
How do you expect a brand new player to come in and sort all of this out plus build what many here took years to put together in a timely manner and figure out all the old stuff still coming as awards plus the new stuff.

No-one listens, no-one cares, developers and GGS employees forget who is actually really feeding them, in case they didn't know is us, the donuts that keep on spending.
Is actually quite sad to see that the community and audience has no voice, power or influence over anything that has been thrown around as "new update"
Pathetic because we are the ones that run GGS.
All people ask for is to be listened out, yet that seems so hard, (GGS probably busy making new sick updates).
The way to satisfy your audience is too meet as many different interests as possible, if that's what GGS is doing, you need to rethink your approach and strategies.
Im not Jordan Belfort to give business speeches , but it really doesn't take much to see how negative this place has become.
