Not sure if it disappears by itself but rather than experimenting I'd suggest you take it off (costs a ridiculous low amount of coins so that would not be a problem) and put it back on when you built a granary

Exactly what i did but still curious. maybe i'll put a lvl 1build item and see what happens

pretty sure (not 100%) that construction items move to your storage when the building gets destroyed
