when i type a single sentence, it takes for every to type out each letter and can take over 5 minutes to say something like "food to main please". and whilst it types i cant click on anything. anyone know why?

Are you using the browser edge? I experience that problem if I try to use it.

It happens when you use browsers that just don't work for that, like Internet Explorer or Opera (Mostly) it happens to me when I use those browsers or when I overload any browser. (I'd recommend Maxthon 5 or Firefox and not abuse them)
If it doesn't work, make the typing rithual around a campfire (It actually can be any fire, even a kitchen will do), you only need to do the dance of the letter while spelling the December update thread backwards and it will automatically work, but you have to work more so i don't recommend doing that.

I suggest changing your browser as a long term fix, but for a short-term remedy, it can help if you're opened to the world map rather than a castle (I had this problem three or four years ago and that's how I fixed it until my browser improved.)

Don't play empire with others programs in the background.
Close music / youtube / facebook. I say this if you have a slow pc.
Close programs that sit there and do nothing.
Also try to delete all google's extension (the original ones) they make your game slower, i recommend only Ad-Block if you want.
Delete your histroy if is needed.
And this might be a problem from your internet too, i once had this problem. May be your internet is slower. Or someone using the internet with you. (I had that isue months ago).

so I'm using Microsoft Edge, because every other app apart from internet explorer is blocked. This is what happens when parents want the setup to be like your phone (*sigh*)
