I'm currently level 23. I have about 1900 khan tablets, and I'm wondering if I should spend them on the Saga of the terror bird decorative item when I get enough later today, or save them up to get the commander equipment in the future. (the castellan equipment looks kinda bad for the cost)
Any suggestions?

Neither, spend it all on horsetails.

Horsetails, limes and the deco are the only things worth buying. You need to buy in proportion, mostly horsetails as you can buy nails and decos from Samurai. The commander is weak compared to others that are easier to get. Hope this helps

The commander is probably pretty good for your level, but I would go with Saga of the Terror Bird or horsetails. In the long run, the commander won't help very much.test69725 (US1) said:I'm currently level 23. At a certain level (maybe you already hit it) you will get the King of Shadows quests, which are worth doing. That commander can help you going forward more than the nomads comm. (And seasonal comms/casts are usually pretty useful.)
I would agree that horsetails are a good option, but have to ask why you wouldn't recommend the terror bird deco. Unless he's going to be in a top 20 alliance sometime soon, and stay there for a long, long time, this is probably the best deco he can realistically get right now. Curious to hear your reasoning as I'm sure you have a good reason for only recommending horsetails.Herveus (AU1) said:Neither, spend it all on horsetails.

Well no limes cause at level 23 defending with slits is better than with limes because the attacker cannot negate your ranged strength fully.TheBlueIcicle (US1) said:The commander is probably pretty good for your level, but I would go with Saga of the Terror Bird or horsetails. Why not the terror bird you ask , easy cause he can buy the pagoda garden in the samurai shop.
Also imo he should not bother starting to get deco at level 23 already but rather get horesetails during nomads and save up during sams so he can buy a sams cast as soon as possible and then he can start getting decos from sams and once he is level 50 he can start getting some limes and throwing nails as well.
Also in regards to the commander , if he is going for it I think going for the cheap breastplate and helmet is a decent option as they can help getting the first 90/90 [or at least close to 90/90] commander for bc/fl , if he does get a big target.

2. Blood crow invasion and the foreign invasion do not require a lot of glory to complete before level 70 , however with the glory titles are worth getting and keeping and you can unlock some pretty neat troops and other advantages there [you only have the advantages as long as you also have the required glory title or a bigger one]. So yes Blood crows (shortened to bc) and foreing lords (ussualy shortend to fl) are easy events before level 70 but getting the titles and unlocking and recruiting the strong units you can get with glory titles are what makes it worth to get horsetails

I'm so far away from being able to get kingsguard troops though . . . I can definitely see the benefit of getting horsetails if you're higher level and actually close to those titles, but I'm so far away rn. Would is be all that bad if I just got the decorative item? Or will horsetails be essential to being in the top 50/20 for bc/fl? (keeping in mind I'm only level 23)Herveus (AU1) said:1. And horsetails are not essential at your level yet for top 50/20 but they sure do help and since you are so low level and should still have lot's of space open you can just put a lot of small bad decos , about same effect and your production is so low anyways the % boost would not make that big of a difference.
You should try getting the blade coast weapon [cheap one] and artifact.
Also items that would be worth are the cheap commander helmet and breastplate from the nomad shop [you can get those and not buy horsetails for a few events cause they are worth it] they make a pretty good commander , and in combination with the blade coast [cheap] weapon and artefact they make for a pretty banging commander for your level as it easily reaches 90 ranged and also has good melee and other attributes.

Since you are low level, try to buy a commander from nomad shop.
You get many tablets from alliance rewards, if your alliance is good.
The eq's are really good to be combined with other eq.
What you should do when you want to buy something try to think like this, next event is blood crows/fl. I need lime bombs and tails.
If your alliance is in war, try to save as many tablets as you can, to build a army, if you're in low on soliders.
(this is better on samurai, sincer the samurai is the best army to snipe others).
