So I have been away for less than a month and recently logged back in to find someone is now the leader of my alliance that I started up from scratch.. how do I take back leadership?!

Ask the new leader, you're account was kicked due to inactivity. Don't have high hopes of a response from the new leader because after 24 hours your message will be deleted if they don't log in.
