Hello Everyone;
I have a few questions that I hope you'll help me with. Is there a better castle defense than either the 0/0/100 or 100/0/0 ?
Also which is better to use in castle defense against a level 70+ attack with top ruby attack troops? Murder Holes, Tar pitch kettles, and Arrow slits or Throwing nails, lime powder bombs, and arrow slits , or something completely different?
Make sure you have the level 10 construction items on the keep. Invest hall points into defense for extra wall capacity and combat strength.. etc etc etc, it all helps
Fire moats are a MUST in serious attack defences. Moat is stronger than wall and gate by a reasonable amount.
I would literally give up a slot to have fire moats than normal swamp snappers that is how good they are.
Anyways, murder holes, arrow slits, limes/nails are basically everything you'll ever need in a defence. 80/20-70/30 is the ideal area to have your melee:range ratio as stated above. I guess a cheap and easy set up would be 4 slits, 3 limes, 1 slit and/or 2 limes, 2 slits is probably ideal, murder holes aren't something I would recommend while offline, because players tend to use more wall reduction tools than moat tools, but I'm currently wait to try and test 2 limes, 1 slit and 1 murder hole as that is something I would estimate working pretty well.

Depends on your wall bonus. If you don't use any wall tools and don't have a big bonus on your cast, you become very vulnerable to boulders/shieldWalls.dark venom (US1) said:... murder holes aren't something I would recommend while offline, because players tend to use more wall reduction tools than moat tools ....
Essentially you have three values you need to balance optimise - range power from ranged troops with the slits (to force the attacker to send shield walls), wall bonus (to force the attacker to send wall tools) and moat bonus (which should be then left for your troops to benefit from) -- hence the very high value of fire moats, and the importance of making sure that you have enough wall power that the attacker can't just ignore the wall %
