In the shop you can buy an equipment piece for 14k rubies, but they say it's only for 5 days. Does that mean I'll lose my equipment after these 5 days? That would be a shame..

on temporary equipment you lose the command and everything not just the changed look of the command ?

You lose the item and all its effects - so if you just bought the look item , your look slot is fee again and your troop or castle look normal again - similar all other temporary pieces - you loose the piece and its effect.

You are renting rather than buying
