What is a blind attack? How is it used, what are benefits and can i please get a tooling?

I'm not pro at war, but a blind hit is sending a attack without spying the target. Experienced players (or ruby players) just hit them without spying, if they're lucky to find the person offline, or his defense weak (troops on the walls, cast)
Is used by most of the people that are experienced at this game, or they're ruby players ( so in this case, losing the battle is not a problem), most of the time i've seen people sending blind attacks to the targets that are near to them in kingdoms, or green, but most of the time in kingdoms, why is that?
In KG's alliances can't really support people in time, if they're really far away, most of the people forget to put a good def set-up, or don't even bother with that, also in KG's some bonuses doesn't apply for the defender (like from Research Tower/V.I.P bonuses), the detection time for the attack +most of the people don't have watch towers in KG's.
In green is more complicated, since you don't have the same luck like in KG's.
Anyway, usually players use 3 lime bombs and 1 fire arrows - 80 melee 20 range (ratio), so if you know that this is his defense set-up, and if you're lucky to beat his wall... then why bother to spy ?
If you want to win, just spy, if you just want to do a lot of damage in cy, make sure you beat his wall.. or atleast use a good commander
Benefits, well.. there aren't many benefits from this.. just that you save time, and feathers.
About tooling, there are a lot of different play styles that players use, 50 tools per flank or 42,etc.
Maybe someone will help you with that.
