Can you please explain (briefly) when you should defend one flank or both flank or middle etc?

it depends on the strength of your castellian - i tend to go for high courtyard and defend centre as you should kill more attackers but always depends on stats of attacker if you are being attacked look to kill as many attackers as possible so less lossess in the courtyard !
