If you would like a long term boost in MP I would suggest using your rubies and investing them into ruby buildings such as the hospital and bakery. In my opinion the best way to get MP is to build up and keep expanding (outposts and other kingdoms)

bakery is the most important ruby building if you want to boost your mp, as you can house more troops (and therefore more MP).
Unique equipment is great for MP, and so are good event decos. Use those to boost food prod to hold more troops, and train harder better faster stronger troops. Use troops to get better decos, better build items, glory/gallantry titles, etc.
Unique eq, troops, titles, decos are how to boost mp.

The best way to boost mp at the primary stage is to take part in events. From these you get troops, tools, equipment, etc. Also, capturing ops(8 food only) which already have buildings in them and then stocking them with troops is another way to boost your mp. In the outer kingdoms, getting RVs (especially food RVs) is very important as they increase your resource production, increasing your capability to have troops, giving a boost to your mp.
