Can anyone think of any reason to keep Relic Heroes for Glory events that don't increase glory?

I have some nice ones that increase glory around 85%, but I have some other "Glory Commanders" that don't have any glory boost.  

I have old commanders that boost glory anywhere between 50 to 20 percent, so I'll never use these gloryless Relic Commanders in a glory event.

Can anyone give me a reason not to sell them?

If you don't use it, sell them. You get a lot of equipment anyway(at least if you're active).
The shards are useful to de-embed gems etc. 
Why sell it? The reason is summed up in your post lol
