I cant remember the last time I saw 6k+ troops in a BC or FL castle, best I've had in the past month is one 3.5k. most are 500-700 only
I must have cleared 100+ castles.
If there are no big BC's and FL's there is no incentive to collect horsetails. If you stop collecting horsetails, the game loses it's drive.
You then have to ask yourself "why am I playing this game and spending money on it"
If the answer is to spend more money to improve the BC's and FL's then I'm afraid that's a step too far for me.
Anyone any ideas?

They won't change it, because it is the design of the event.
They took away the largest castles, in order to get you to Dethrone or Fortify them. If you don't want to do that, then they don't care. The main event is to clear castles to get the LPTE points. The Dethrone / Fortify is to TRY to get the big castles that have been removed.
They hope you spend and try, spend and try, then spend and try some more...…………..

Thank you Wasso for your answer. It is as I suspected. For me the game started to go downhill when BC's and FL's stopped attacking. Since then most of the changes, not all but most, have been for the worse. This is quite possibly the straw that broke the camels back. I understand the game has to evolve, but there has to be a balance between ruby players, non ruby players and those like me who, and I think this is most players, spend 50 to 150 a year. I think GGE has lost sight of this. Revenue may be up for now but in the long term I think they will lose players. Having lost them it will be near impossible to get them back. I fear the game will be dead inside 3 years.
