If you open up your gates in OR, does your Heritage still get taken?

I would assume it does, but have never tried. Anyone know if that is true?

I am currently doing Outer Realms under sufferance. I absolutely hate it with a passion but having been persevering for the relic tokens. I moved my castle to the edge of the map and got hit by a level 48 (I'm level 16) who travelled 181 clicks for the privilege. I am not spending rubies for every single attack its ridiculous. There needs to be a level threshold so that you can only hit people your level +/- 10 or something. I have been hit by nothing except people 20 levels higher than me since it started. I think I'm going to boycott future ones. As for not getting the tokens, I'd rather spend rubies in Kingdom League for my main account to get the extras, than waste money in Outer Realms.
Sorry for the negative attitude because generally I enjoy GGE alot. But the disparity between big spenders and moderate/no spenders in Outer Realms is too great.

I just stopped joining and take the slow increase of token from "normal" events
