Topic: [369645] Tailoring Attack to Spy Report - a Question about Tools

Hi all

I'm hoping some of you experts out there can answer my question(s).

In the spy report, what is the difference between having, say, one arrow in two different slots as opposed to two arrows in one slot?  In terms of attack planning I mean.  I had presumed that having two arrows in one slot meant that I needed to equip my troops to defend these in two different waves, however when I have done this, I have noticed in the result report that the defence tools I used in the second wave were not used.  Can anyone explain to me please... i.e. when do you need to use tools on different waves?

Many thanks,

LT

Each slot provides it's own bonus.

Taking the Arrow Slit as an example (70% ranged defence strength), having these in two different slots will provide an extra 140% ranged combat strength for as many waves as there are tools in the slot. One slot of the same tool with only provide 70% ranged combat strength for as many waves are there are tools.

The most common setup these days is 1 slot of a ranged boosting tool, and 3 slots of a melee boosting tool. If we assume Lime Powder Bombs and Arrow Slts, this gives the defender a total of 99% melee combat strength (on top of castllan bonus and the base 100% bonus), and 70% ranged combat strength (again, on top of Castellan and base 100% bonuses). This gives the number you can see at the top of the screen in spy reports.

In general, most level 70 players will send 2 waves of ranged tools (split 32 ranged tools, 8 moat tools), along with any other waves being a combination of wall and moat tools (split 20 belfreys, 20 boulders). This will be the most common setup used by players, as it performs neither horribly, or spectacularly well, and instead does well against most setups.

Does this help?
