is  there  a  way  to  set  up  the  HoL   to  have   both   6  waves  of  attacks  and  5  tools  slots  for  defence  at  the  same  time

I believe it takes some 320 points to get the 6th wave, and just as many to get the extra tool slot in defence. With the limit of 550 upgrade points, this would not be achievable.
