I wonder how many RBC should I start leveling up in the Great Kingdom. Besides that, where should they be (eg. near the OPs or the castle)?

10-15 in total in green to start with. I'm sure somebody will chime in and say that's not near enough, but if you try to do too many early on the lack of progress(and return - the low levels don't pay much) will put you off.

360 minimum. You will need these to run -400k food effectively with slowdown hits. As each will offer 70k food, you will need to cover at least 12 hours in case of a sleep in or long work day. Now you have up to 6 castles, including metro and capital. So that's a total of -2.4mil/h, over 12 hours, so you're looking at a total of about 30 million food. So at 80k food per hit you will need 360. Now that's a minimum, as top players are currently expanding into the 1,000s due to running higher negatives to support the new mead feature.
Anyways that was total garbage. 15-20 is all you really need unless you plan on making this your part time job. My highest level RBC is 2, and about 150 to my closest castle and I've done just fine.
