 I was thinking about buying the crane, but I wanted to know something, having installed the crane in my main castle, will it only work there or will it work in outposts too?

crane only works in the castle where it is placed

crane only works in the castle where it is placed

I agree as I have a crane in my main castles in the various kingdoms
