Yes you can play the event in Bird mode. You can attack anyone. But no one can attack you. An advantage ofc.

I thought as much , but did not have the bottle to press send , just in case , i ask because i never had any warning appear when setting up. and believe that this was an event as nothing and no harm is done when attacking , if it was a normal attack you get the warning message.

I made 160k last week, In Bird mode ofc, And Yes none attacked me. 
I too was not able to attack ids in Pro mode, As it may show u screen to launch battle, But while launching it shows u cannot attack this castle lord . My friends who were not in bird mode also had the same experience.

i thought u used to be able to, as dove s were always a target, unless its changed
