Hello,

Please help me out.  I have a player in my alliance and he doesn't have 4 slots of tools on his walls.  It has been two years since I had a fourth slot.  I don't remember how I got it.  I think I purchased it with rubies, but I'm not 100% certain.  Can you remind me how I got that fourth slot of wall tools?

Higher level of castle wall gives more wall slots.
Furthermore, you can get an extra slot by selecting the appropriate defense settings in the Hall of Legends.

Well, there is the technical innovator skill that give you another set of slots on the flanks.  But I have 4 tools slots.  My walls are upgraded the same as my friends...yet he only has 3 slots.

There has to be something more I forgot about.  Is there a place to purchase an extra slot?  How about the research tower?  I'm failing to understand why he is higher level than I am, yet has less (3 compared to my 4) slots for his castle walls.  Again, I remember buying this upgrade, but don't remember how or when.

In my Storm Castle I also have only three slots, while it's four slots in all other castles.
When I hover over the missing fourth slot it says "walls level 5 required". As Wiglema already posted.

I don't think that I had to buy anything extra to get the fourth slot.

You said you ruled out a missing wall upgrade?

Yeah, it all makes sense now.  It appears he had four wall tools.  The confusion came about in spying castles.  Apparently, if there are 4 tools and your spies only see 2 of them, you will only get one set of ? for both of the missing tools.
