How to use loot sacks?

you need a level 2 seige workshop and 40 coins. They only give you 15 extra resources, so I wouldn't recommend them. If you do have them use them like any other seige tool.

15 extra resources for every soldier?

Can you use multiple loot sacks and get more loot with each one? What if you use a loot sack on Wave 2 of the attack, does it still work?
Same questions regarding war banners. Do more work better than 1, and can you use them on wave 2 (so as to use the battering ram and scaling ladders on wave 1)?

That is a good question. I think the banners "stack", i.e. 10 banners in one slot = +10%
Not sure if the sacks do though.
They don't.
If you put ten in a slot, then hold the mouse over it, the bubble that pops up says +15 looting capacity, same as for one.
This contrasts to the ladders, that DO stack. Put ten of them into a slot, and you see a "-100% wall bonus".
YAY. I figured it out.

I'm was surprised to read that the loot sacks don't stack, so I've gone over some attacks I have recently done, all on the same target and with similar troop and loot sacks numbers.
As it was looking back on attacks rather than structuring the attacks to test for this problem specifically, its not completely conclusive, but generally shows that you get more loot the more loot sacks you get.
It's hard to tell exactly as the numbers seem to have a random variance in them for attacks with exactly the same amount of soldiers and loot sacks, even though 100% economic espionage said there was more resources in the castle than could be carried PLUS the amount of resources safely locked away.
I'll be more careful with my attacks in the future and try to get a conclusion of how the loot sacks effect the amount of loot you get.

I've just calculated....
If you send an attack and e.g. 10 maceman return, they carry 1o times 32 (320 pieces of loot), as each maceman can carry that. But if you give them looting sack, the amount of loot will rise only by 15. That is 46% less than if you take one more maceman instead, who would take another 32 pieces. Plus you need to use it instead of some useful siege tool. Plus they don't stack, as mentioned above...
Which means, loot sacks are not worth using!

Good questions not answered yet...
How loot cart or loot sack works ?
Description :
"Increases loot (considerably) when plundering a castle"
If i put one in each flank and in middle in each wave (total 9 loot cart/sack used) do i have more loot than just put only one for all waves ?
Am i supposed to use only one and all others are waste ?
If someone could answer that i will stop to spending coins or rubies for nothing.
Thanks.
edit : bigdawg1 almost gave an answer but left before...

They like to use "considerably", "greatly" and other terms instead of % or other concrete measurements. Dunno why.

That is just when you hover the mouse over the tool/troop. Click on the "i", and you will get concrete measurements e.g. battering ram reduces gate protection by 10%. An exception to this is the loot sacks/carts they say "+15" and "+35" but don't explain fully what they are adding to - %ages, overall loot, loot capacity, limit of loot etc.

OK so I have finally got round to testing how the loot sacks work (sorry for the wait) and it is how you would expect:
I attacked a player with a large (much larger than his hideouts could cover for each attack) pool of resources, twice with an army of 119 (5 different types of soldiers) and no loot sacks, and twice with the same army and 20 loot sacks.
The attacks without loot sacks brought back a total amount equal to how much the combined army could carry, exactly the right amount and exactly the same total amount for both attacks.
The attacks with loot sacks brought back 300 more resources than the attacks without. This is equal to each of the 20 loot sacks bringing 15 more resources each (agrees with the +15 in the tooltip). All the loot sacks were stacked in one flank of one wave.
THEREFORE LOOT SACKS DO STACK
The outcome above is what I expected for the loot amounts for soldiers alone or soldiers and loot sacks together, so it may seem overkill that I wanted to test it this rigorously, but as there was ambiguity, I thought it prudent

So basically they're pretty useless?
I mean what's the point of paying 40 gold to get just 15 wood / stone or food...
It would've been great if they actually gave like +5 for every soldier, but of course you shouldn't be able to stack and their price should be increased.
Room for improvement on these items if you ask me!

If you have gold and not resources, that's the point. If you don't, just hope the resource barterer event appears in your castle and you can trade resources for gold (if I remember correctly).
