The thorn king is a rough event, too rough.
Its already hard to earn resources, its even harder to send some from your main castle.
It deducts almost 9/10 of your resources sent. Also, it takes two hours that need 240 rubies for faster arrival, it should only be 200 rubies because of the rate 1 ruby per 30 seconds.
Also, the enemy's troops are very many and you have limited troops that take 2 hours of travel still.
If you compare it, you'll find it a disadvantage rather than an advantage. X(

The thorn king is a challenge for strong players who are on high level, I too am having a problem on donating 5000 wood.

Absolutely not! Of course the donation at the beginning is very big but since we wanted to make the game possible for almost every level, you should not send resources into the event but you should gain them in there!

The cost is too much for low level players to donate to enter.

There's a level 19 in my alliance who can't do the Thorn King event. I'm assuming that means there's a minimum level, anybody know what it is? My guess is 20 or 25.

well as you told us i went to a middle Recource village lost al my 20 guys and i get 3wood+3stone+25food

you only sent 20 troops and some ladders i would suggest sending a spy before you try to capture one and try sending more troops

The problem with it though is that to gain more space for troops you need to send more resources because you need at least 25 troops to kill those resource villages. Why am i sending 7000 resources and only recieving 700 its ridicolous! I think GGS intentinally made it hard for non ruby players to win so they would get more money. That only makes it more unlikely you will be getting my money!

So unfair the only way to make it go somewhat quickly and to get troops over there in numbers is by spending a ton of rubies it works out as 50rubies per person if you want not to spend resources and half the time without decreasing morale and this costs a lot over time and the reason I need all these troops is so I lose less when I attack I enjoy achallenge but it gets a bit stupid I currently have 84 troops half range half melee and about 15 Kingsgaurd half and half modes of attack and I am an attacking my 3rd Tower and it has 60 melee I mean that is going to cost me alot of troops causing my send loads over costing rubies and a lot of gold just seems to take the mick a bit like that...

This is quite absurd -
Firstly: I can send 5!? 5!? troops at a time to begin with? What am I supposed to do with 5 men?
Secondly: Large Tents cost rubies, and are stated to be 'significantly' better. Another advantage to ruby players... and then...
Thirdly: Hunters camp - the only way to reduce food consumption. Hmmm. Costs rubies. Goodgame Empire says, 'BUY RUBIES OR YOUR FU...dged.' Basically another money making scheme. And 990 rubies for 1 hunters camp - are you joking?
Fourthly (perhaps the worst thing): Lets send some res over there! Right so i'll send 5000 of each... OH WAIT A SEC. 500 IS ALL THAT ACTUALLY ARRIVES!? Come on Goodgame, Everwinter Glacier we could put up with, even the burning sands etc. but it costs you 90% of your resources when you send them over.
Piss take. I'm sure some players may be able to do this as a 'challange' - but in reality we all know it's just another absurd way to make people buy more rubies (as if we haven't had enough ruby making updates in the past few months already) - because without rubies here you're practically stuffed.

another advantage with big-time ruby players is that they could get 10 hunter's camp so there is no food consumption
