What is a hideout???

It protects 750 of your resources so they can not be plundered by an attacking enemy

No it doesn't. My main castle has a level 3 keep, level 6 storage, 3 hideouts. My maximum storage capacity is 61,000. 1,000 of it is from my keep, 60,000 is from my storage. Nothing from the hideouts.

well Whorticulturist building another one will be a good idea if you feel you have the space for it.

Normally when you get to high levels you like to have as much space as possible for decorations and buildings as they help you actually defend. There is no need for them when you get to higher levels, but you can always demolish them.
