Depends how much you attack and what troops you attack with.  If you use mainly ruby troops and are a non ruby player then not much point, but if you buy rubies and plan to upgrade it to high levels, I think it is a good idea.  Its always good to have it just incase though

About the Widow maker and Weapon Master Gallantry titles: does the increased food production apply to just your Berimond camp, or does it boost food production in all of your castles?

It boost your food production in all kingdoms. 
Also with the new update of berimond, you don't have a berimond camp of yourself.

Yes, you can... In the management screen, only the leader can do it, and if it is not the first time, it costs rubies form the alliance funds.
