Topic: [75729] Barbarian Fortress

Can somebody tell me what is a barbarian fortress?
People say to attack them to earn rubies.
I'm level 24 and need 26 XP to go to level 25 so if that thing is in another world, forgive me for being so stupid.:S

In Everwinter Glacier (the world you unlock at level 25), there are barbarian towers. They are like robber barons, but they start at level 20. These are different to barbarian fortresses.

Barbarian fortresses are a lot rarer than robber barons, and they look a bit bigger than the barbarian towers. Attack one, and win, and you get 10,000 coins, 150 rubies (the rubies don't show up in the report, but you do get them, and you can see them on the troops' returning journey) and loot (based on how much your troops' loot capacity is). However, it has a longer cool down time than an RBC (I believe it is something like 18 hours), and that cool down time applies to everyone. So if I attack a fortress, everyone has to wait 18 hours (or thereabouts) before they can attack that fortress again. You can still attack another one, though. The fortresses never "level up" or get stronger.

In each world (apart from The Great Empire - the one you start off in), there is something like a Barbarian Fortress. There are Desert Fortress' in Burning Sands, and I hear that there is some form of Dragon Fortress in Fire Peaks.

A Barbarian Fortress looks like this:

A battle report with them looks something like this:

And the troops coming home with the rubies look something like this:

:D Well, I wasn't completely sure - other people have been wrong before. Besides, I thought that there was a dragon in the Icy Siege, and that GGS would be more creative than to just use the idea again.

And whatever happened to realistic medieval game?

Well we all know GGS is not creative (take a look at the Knights of the Kingsguard for example), but I like more a slightly unrealistic game, than a boring realistic one :D,
and because this is a game, since the start it was not realistic, because of the fact a single soldier can carry 20 mantlets by himself and kill hundreds of archers if he want :D

I guess that the mantlets (and all the other tools) are slightly unrealistic, unless they were carrying the tools in a loot cart. :P

I guess that I'd rather have an interesting dragon than yet another boring princess, but they get paid for these ideas, and if 2 major ones are both dragons then I think the idea guys (or girls) at GGS should get a smaller pay cheque. :P

150 Rubies???

I only get like 50 each time, GGS is bad.

1. The amount of rubies for Barbarian fortresses was lowered, but the amount for desert fortresses and the Dragon have been increased.

2. Nice 3 year thread bump!

It's been 2 and a half years. The maps have changed, basically everything has changed, and all you could complain about was the amount of rubies you get from attacking a Barbarian fortress?
