Can't you get money for putting advertisement on your website ?
You can still get money by putting advertisement on your website right ?

Quite honestly, yes we want you to buy rubies. The purchasing of rubies generates the money that allows us to develop and run our games in the first place. I understand that some of you will be unhappy with it, but nobody has been forced to buy it and it is only being offered for a limited time much like the other ruby offers.

Yes they could but probably not enough to be able to keep a game like this up and running and to updates quite often

I think its a complete rip off ime a rubie player and i wont buy them any more cos ggs are just getting greedier day by day aswell as trying to bribe us for our vote, the only decent thing they have done since i started this game is add the 3 new kingdoms, now that the chest is there for the next month does that mean we wont see any other offers like the half off rubie items one or the primetimes for extra rubies?
Hi Jaydpt,
If you think it's a rip off to purchase the Travelling Knights in the chest then don't buy them. It is completely optional! I don't know where you got the time period of 1 month from, the chest has already gone again and i believe was only available for less than 2 hours. The other ruby events will still run as normal.
I also don't get why you think the voting event is a bribe? The rubies will be given to EVERYONE if Empire wins the award, not just those who voted, therefore it is more like an insentive. Even if it was a bribe, nobody is forcing anyone to go and vote. Yes, we would love to win the award and are simply giving player rubies in the hope that more people will make the effort to go an vote.

I buy some from time to time but not this many, i think its really sick, i did the thorn king spent a huge amount of everything (time, resources, rubies and coins) and got 140 troops and 350 rubies! this isnt even a mission its just buy rubies and be rewarded! big ruby buyers advantage, yet again!
The Thorn King rewards 850 rubies for attacking all 19 towers, and a minimum of ~550 rubies for completing the Necromancer's castle and therefore attacking at least 9 other towers. If you are going to complain, get your facts right.
To everyone else who hates this, GGS have to make money somehow. If you pay money, you want an advantage, and you do get an advantage with rubies. People who have never bought rubies (I am one of them) should just be glad that you can play the game for free - many MMORPGs have to be bought before you can even start, and most of the rest of them have only very limited content for free. Non-ruby players can access every single kingdom, get 3 outposts and can get many buildings. They can also save up for bakeries, watchtowers etc.

I agree with you, man. I've made FTP games in the past and the amount of time spent on the simplist is HUGE! Everyone, let's remember: THIS IS GOODGAME'S JOB! Folks need to be paid. For all the time and effort we (as players) put into this game, we do it with our free time. Goodgame GAVE us this game. When you pay to make a product, it's REALLY hard to get $$$ for it when you give it away.
They also do give away Rubies to players that aren't paying. They aren't the best at it, but they are FAR better at it then 90% of the FTP game out their. Go try any Zynga Game for a month and compare the two.
(To Goodgame: You might be my 2nd or 3rd fav. Travian is pretty old school, graphics wise.... But, sorry, Blue Frog Gaming is still my fav. Much love, though!)
That all said, I would like to join the rioting masses: Thorn King Sucks, man! i got so excited to get to lvl 20 and join, But, "WAHHHHN!" It's just SO much!! And I don't even know what I have to do after that!! Any chance we'll get missions with Level Based quests? ( I know, thats WAY more work for y'all, But alot of lower ranked players get turned off by that kinda MASSIVE comitment)
That's what I want to say. Great game you've given us.

My only complaint about ruby VS non-ruby is the haves can beat up on the have-nots. Maybe a trigger/protection could be put into play to separate the two types of players. Pick an arbitrary number and warn people they are opening themselves to attack by crossing that threshold. I don't think it will impact the bottom line for GoodGameStudios.

You can buy rubies at the same price and get 24,000 more with a 75% bonus. So basically you are giving up 24,000 rubies for 300 soldiers. If anyone knows how to do math before they spend their real money to support the greed here, then you probably should start with this. Don't support these crappy events.

24,000 rubies for 300 soldiers.
Comparing it to the 100% bonus, it's actually 32,000 rubies for 300 soldiers and 75 armourer tools. The tools are 50 belfry and 25 heavy ram. 1 belfry costs 27 rubies, so 50 cost 1350 rubies. 1 heavy ram costs 32 rubies, so 25 cost 800 rubies. That's a grand total of 2,150 rubies worth of tools. Subtract that off 32,000 and you're paying 29,850 rubies for 300 travelling knights.
HCB and 2HS shadow soldiers cost 800 rubies for 10. That means 24,000 rubies for 300 of them. The HCB have 29 less attack power (about 1/3 of their total power) than travelling crossbowmen and 2HS have 23 less attack power (about 1/5) than travelling knights. I think that it's an extra 5,850 rubies well spent.

Het zou wel eerlijker zijn als de robijnen goedkoper waren dan konden ook mensen met een kleine beurs af en toe welke kopen. De verdienste bleef het zelfde omdat er meer mensen zouden kopen.

They need the money to update and debug the servers this is why they want us to buy rubies but at least we get some things in return it all may look unfair to you but they need us to spend money to evolve the game further because to update the game it costs money.

Rubie chest is a total ripoff!!!! Says if you purchase 50,000 rubies that it will unlock the chest. A player on my Alliance did that and then it said he needed to purchase more and showed a "progess chart". He purchased another 19,000 and the "progess" increased and now it says to purchase another 19,000 rubies.....still no troops!!!! What a rip off!!! Very deceiving!!! Why have an exact number posted and then no reward.
