i thought that ggs made it easier to get relic pieces
i attacked 14 baron castles and got 0 pieces
they were all lvl 5 and above

Level 5 RBC is nothing.
I have attacked 2 level 18 RBCs and have gotten 2 relic pieces.
In the end, you will either get lucky or you will not. I would estimate that the chance of getting a piece from a level 5 RBC is around 7/8% - you didn't get particularly lucky, but you weren't exactly unlucky. I would estimate the level 18 RBCs give relics around 80% of the time - I definitely wasn't unlucky, but I wasn't really *that* lucky.

Level 5 is nothing.
try level 23 like i do, but it's still around 60% chance of finding a piece.
You can also wait for the other kind of relic because it's smaller, and it's not wirth it to get these tools, i mean traveling knights are enough.

It is about luck. Sometimes you will be lucky, sometimes you will not.
Last time, I attacked a level 1 RBC and got a piece (well, I attacked more than one, but I still got a piece from one of them). I also attacked a ~level 15 and didn't get one.

That is right, it is like a hunt for pieces. Search and search an hopefully find some.

Yeah ive attacked several level 7 robber barons and got loads of relic pieces, plus map pieces. i even got both a map piece AND a relic piece from a level 2 (sheer luck...)
