Each research has 5 levels, with the exception of the veteran soldiers. I have put the %age of the effect for the first level, and the next %ages can be worked out by adding the original %age e.g. level 1 = 5%, level 2 =10%, level 3 = 15% etc.
You can:
Increase the speed of recruiting soldiers (9%)
Increase the travel speed of soldiers (20%)
Increase the speed of producing tools (9%)
Increase the travel speed of spies (15%)
Increase the number of experience points earned in battles (2%)
Increase the number of resources plundered (8%)
Replace macemen with veteran macemen (N/A)
Replace spearmen with veteran spearmen (N/A)
Replace crossbowmen with veteran crossbowmen (N/A)
Replace bowmen with veteran bowmen (N/A)
Increase the travel speed of market barrows (20%)
Increase your tax revenue (6%)
Increase the productivity of woodcutters (4%)
Increase the productivity of stone quarries (4%)
Increase the productivity of farmhouses (4%)
Increase the experience points earned from building/upgrading buildings (2%)
EDIT: Went offline for a bit, so didn't see Sparkster's post before mine. Oh, well.
