I captured my first outpost and when my army was hanging out there i noticed i had 2500 food but it said my storage was 800. What is going on?

the maximum starting food of Outposts was increased, so players that send a lot of army don't run out of food fast and their soldiers desert

It's normal I had that too when capturing an outpost. See it as a starting gift to build your first buildings in your outpost. Also there will be no more resources created than your storage. This means that only if the resources is lower than your storages there will be new resources created in your outpost.
