I surrendered a post, but would now rather not do that. Is it possible to stop the surrender as it takes 24 hours to complete?

From what I have heard, no.
If you have a friend within ~100 miles with at least 1 free castellan willing to help, I *think* there is a slightly complicated way of getting it back with many (or possibly all) buildings/decos intact. Bear in mind that this might not work, but it probably (hopefully) will.
1. Remove all troops from the outpost.
2. Tell your friend to capture the outpost with the minimum troops needed.
3. Once the outpost has been captured (during the 24 hour "hold-on-to" period), get your friend to remove every troop but 1 from the outpost.
4. Attack the outpost and re-capture it.

24 hours to surrender it and 24 hours to capture
the guy captures after it surrenders so when the friend tkes it it is on default mode
a keep lvl 1 and walls lvl 1

My idea was suggesting that the original player re-captured the outpost during the 24 capture period. I'm not sure that you understood that.
