Topic: [76214] Why should I research/buy the veteran soldeirs?

[-76214] slugger57 [None] :: Aug. 25, 2012, 1:07 a.m.
I've recently unlocked the reaserch tower, and was wondering what benifits there were for buying the veteran Crossbowman/Maceman/Bowman/Spearman. They consume the same ammount of food as the regular units, and have smaller stats. I'm not sure how much they cost, but even if it was less, it dosn't seem to be worth it. Is there something I've missed?

Yes, they dont have lower stats there stats are slighter higher but they do cost more. ( Here is a tip if you are landgrave or higher you get a discount on the attacking ones )

the V.Crossbow have 10 Looting Capacity less than the H.Crossbow but it also Travel Slower than the Veteran
the V.Maceman have 2 more of Looting capacity than the Two Handed Swordsman, and also move faster
and the veterans are slightly more powerful than the regular level 5 barracks units, and with the defenders they are more powerful and moves way faster than the regular defenders, so for support they are useful too

It's biggest usefulness if you ask me (other than increased attack power in high numbers) is it's marching speed. Incredibly useful when attacking in long distances.
It's even better when you take a look at veteran defenders marching speed. It provides quick, yet very powerfull, support. Add that with stables level 2 as well as the fastest ruby horses, and you can provide powerful support to nearly anyone around the map in less than an hour.
Upgrade the Alliance Support in the alliance cash box to increase it's effectiveness.

Umm, they dont have level 3 stables. My alliance leader has his castle literally filled with veteran bowman and spearmen. He wins almost every single raid! He doesnt attack, the attackers come to him. He has about 1000 veterans in his main. Do they eat 2 food or 4 food an hour?
