I have spied on some lvl60 players and found they have more defense than I could have ever predicted. I'm talking over 12000 veteran soldiers.
Let's crunch the numbers here. They are likely not producing more than 5000 food per hour. At 12500 men the soldiers would consume 50000 food per hour. Factor in a lvl4 Bakery and they would consume 30000 food per hour. Minus the production and that is negative 25000 food per hour. That means they must be looting or otherwise receiving about 600000 food per day. That is a hell of a lot of food. They also need a constant income stream as they have a capacity of 61000 and would run out in less than 2.5 hours without a boost.
Perhaps my numbers are slightly off and they are producing more than 5000 per hour with research maxed out, but still they would be needing to obtain at least an extra 400000 food per day. I can see this being technically possible, but it would require either constant massive attacks to many different castles (which would run out of food quick and be slowed down by fire) or being constantly sent food by dozens of players per day just to keep them afloat.
Again, this is possible, but not really practically so. How are these players doing this, and more importantly, why? Attacks can only be so large and it is not really pointful to be that powerful. The game is really not designed for it and I see it as a bit of an abuse of the system. Sure, you can be -25000 food per hour if you really want, but isn't this getting a bit ridiculous? Anyone else annoyed by this?
For you players who have this many soldiers, what gives? Why do you go through such trouble to maintain such a massive army? Who is giving you all this food? If it is alliance members, wouldn't they be better off keeping decent armies themselves and you having a smaller (but still large) one? This discovery kind of changed my whole view of the game. What point could there be to trying to take down someone with 12500 veteran defense with all the best tools? I don't mean to be a spoiled sport, but this may just ruin the game for me...

Most Likely: They have defensive soldier support from other alliance members, I have heard that people have gotten so many soldiers

If you have veteran overseers and normal overseers +20% of bonus of research you can produce lots of food, also are you talking about 8 food outposts for example? or mains in other kingdoms?
I produce 4000 food per hour, in a main castle, and I have no ruby decorations on it

Factors needed:4 Bakery, 3 WindMill, Veteran overseer,Decorative items, research tower, SUPPORT, they could even be losing foodxJadetsssx wrote: »If you have veteran overseers and normal overseers +20% of bonus of research you can produce lots of food, also are you talking about 8 food outposts for example? or mains in other kingdoms?

Well yes, but not at the rate the guy is saying, in a full ruby Main castle for saying an example, with a veteran overseer, a normal overseer and 10 food villages, and 20% of research, probably you will be producing over 5000 food per hour

I appreciate the examples, but even with everything you guys are saying, they would need support, and a tons of it. They would probably need about 50 players giving 10000 food per day. What competing player has 10000 food to give away every day, never mind 50 players giving it away to the same guy? I still find this bizarre, even though possible. I would still like to know how this happens in the practical sense and why players bother doing it.

But are you sure the guy had 12'000 troops in that castle in more than one espionage? or are you based in a single spy report?

also if someone was attacking the way, or someone declared war on him everyone on his alliance could help him with soldiers too

You can send support soldiers. What Im really wondering is why that guy has regular spearmen and macemen when he can have veterans? Maybe he got support from someone weaker.... Regularly level 60s always have soldiers from lvl 4 and 5 barracks and veteran guys. Well, he has very few armed citizens, only 60.

I am a level 60 and I saved a couple of Macemans and Crossbowmans only to have them as a reminder of those old times
