I have messaged hi,...alliance support is irrelevant here...I can see that he had 900 defenders but only 200 can fit on the walls max with level3 towers.
I know about armourers tools..I have used them to defend many attacks and I have never seen a report like this with ruby attack tools used.
Unless I'm missing something that someone else sees...it has to be a bug.

ask the defender, my only suggestion is that if he had alliance support, it would make more sense
He didn't have support as the report shows only 952 troops.
Yes, I agree, ask the defender for a screen shot of the report to see if it's a bug.

Um sorry to bother but how do you get a dwelling to go to level 1? Also just then I sent out an attack and the player who got attacked sent me a text! How funny but I said shut your mouth.

If this is a real question, To get a level 1 dwelling, just click on contruction list, then on the civil tab you'll see it there

If you look at my earlier post, I only lost 330 against 1080 using veterans defenders and armourer tools so I think it's at least possible. It does seem a bit funny though, but not impossible in my opinion.

I didn't mention it was not possible in any part of my post, I only said it was weird

I didn't say you said it was impossible, I simply said it was possible and we both said it was weird. So the impossibility is in fact a possibility if you remove the weird factor and whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth.
Then again, it might just be weird......

He may have used the special ruby tools such as the fire moat and a few others. Defense bonuses are still very high minus the small amount you reduced from your (even though ruby) tools.
To solve this without contacting GGS, start spying on him and you'll get to the bottom of this without asking any outside assistance.

Why were there only 20 tools on the other flank? And why did he still choose to defend the left side instead?
I suspect 2x arrow slits, 1x machicolation, 1x fire moat per wave. (= +110% W, +140% R, +120%/+130% M)
And your tools split up by waves must have looked something like this, right?
12 siege towers, 8 assault bridges ---> (+40% (m), +236% (r))
12 ironcast mantlets, 8 assault bridges ---> (+150% (m), +200% (r))
20 siege towers ---> (+120% (m), +428% (r))
5 siege towers, 15 banners ---> (+155% (M), +512% (r))
Armourer's tools aren't that deadly on level 4 walls where you can bring 30 attack tools per wave. Used with level 3 walls, though, you basically have to bring armourer's siege tools or you're toast.
There's only one scenario in which you need 30 slots for 2 different armourer siege tools: 21 shield walls, 9 boulders VS. 3x arrow slits, 1x fire moat.
