Is there a way to stop building upgrades? For example I want to stop upgrading my dwelling to level 5 and upgrade my barracks to level 4 instead because i think its better. Is there a way to stop upgrades or do I just have to wait till it finishes? Please respond if you know the answer.

With two construction slots, provided that the second one is empty (or with three and at least one of them is empty)
upgrade the barracks, then you will see it in the bottom of the contruction list
click and drag the Icon's building to the top and it will start building it and is going to queue the other building(s) upgrade

Ok, that tells me that I can't cancel the upgrade and that I'm going to have to wait because I only have 1 slot.. But thanks for the answer. ^_^
