Okay, I've had a good look around the forum but can't find anything.
Can anyone let me know exactly how taxes are calculated?
My population is 3195 and I receive 1,482 per 10 minutes with the +20% bribe feature and +16% with levies.
I have a target of 2,000 per 10 minutes and want to work out how many more citizens I will need so I can plan the construction of dwellings.

Your tax income per 10 minutes is 1/3 of your amount of population.
So if you have 3000 population, you'll make 1000 coins per 10 minute.
Add your bonus of 20% to that.

I know you only asked for 10 minutes, but this will help anyone else who visits this thread
Tax calculations:
10 mins: 1/3 or your population (rounded)
30 mins: 2/3 of your population (rounded)
1 hr 30 mins: 2x 30 mins (rounded)
3 hrs: 30 mins + 1hr 30 mins
6 hrs: 3x population (rounded)
(I haven't yet worked out what the ruby taxes are)
Hope this helped! Also, correct me if i'm wrong.

I know Im not joe but alot of people like alot of public order in the outposts. I think it matters on opinion, but I know a friend of mine who has 2000 coins per ten mins and has really good public order in the other outposts, so I think it would be good to do that.

It happened to me too, I was really high in public order but then I realized I had like no population in my outposts.

Hmm... interesting. I distinctly remember a time (before I had levies level 1) where I noticed that my taxes for 10 minutes were exactly 1/3 of my population.
Besides, the taxes work almost perfectly for me:
I have 2782 population (yes, I've got a fire on a dwelling, I know).
Divide 2782 by 3 and you get 927 and a third.
I have levies level 2 (I level up quickly and have been focusing on the veterans), which gives me an 8% bonus.
8% of 927 and a third is 74.186 (with the 6 recurring).
Add 74 to 927 and an extra 1 (1/3 + .186 is just over half so you round up), and you get 1002.
My actual amount for a 10 minute tax is 1001 - just a single coin too much, which equates to less than 0.1% off.

I suggest getting setting quite a bit of dwellings (at least level 1's) at every outpost, and then starting to max out your public order.

Well you're wrong when you say that I'm wrong, buddy.
My population: 3490
3490 / 3 = 1163.33
11.63 + 8% (I have levies level 2) = 1256 coins
Which is exactly what I'm getting per 10 minutes. 1256 coins.
You made me waste 50 rubies to stop my tax collection just to prove a point...
