I have now been playing this game for over 5 months, I have worked on my castle, I have grown huge attack forces, yet one thing still baffels me. What exactly are the building points, and how are they recorded? I know it has something to do with building (obviously), but I am just wondering what the recording system for these are. I have searched on the forum and found one thread similiar, but there was no answer. Help would be appreciated.

I once tried to work this out, but couldn't find a decent answer. I think someone mentioned ages ago that there was a bug with it, but I'm not sure if that was correct or if the bug was fixed.

I think building points ranking measures how "probably" better upgraded are all your castles, or something like that, generally the player on the top have bunch of ruby buildings and bakeries and fully upgraded castles

I believe what jadex said is correct

Note to krishnavyas i am simply stating that she is correct according to what i know if you give me a strike you obviously don't understand what i am trying to imply good day krishnavyas.

I took over a relatively well-developed outpost from a player in ruins and leapt up the rankings, so yes, it depends on the amount/level of your buildings. I can't be bothered to do the maths, but it might be the XP level of all your buildings combined.

I think I actaully just discovered how it works. The amount XP you have, divided by 10. I have 38k in XP roughly, and I just noticed that I have 3,840 building points. So I think that may be the way it works. But the one thing I see wrong with my solution is that you gain XP for certain attacking quests and things like that. Unless attacking is like building up youself. But look at you stats as well and see if this works for you.

If that was the case then the rankings would be in the same order as people's level, and it's not...

That is not true...

Then it must be a coincidence, becasue that is what it looks like for me. I have roughly38k in XP and I have 3840 building points. Must be coincidence, but I am still puzzled as to what building points are.

I have 85,160 xp and 9,304 building points so that is not the case. I also built what I wanted and didn't always follow the quests for xp. If I had to guess it is most likely the xp you got from every building, every level, combined in every castle.

Edit - That is wrong too. Because I looked at a level 12 with his fair share of buildings in his castle, and he only has 2 building points on the leaderboards. So it remains a mystery.

I have tried to figure out how its counted also. I did a couple of experiments because at first I thought it was the exp given from building things only (meaning excluding exp from quest completion.) But this proved to be wrong, when my building points did not match exp received.
I asked a question about one week ago, how building points are measured in a alliance because there are days my alliance is 19th place and then it goes down to 25th or 30th place, without anyone leaving or being added. Like today, two people left and the building points were unchanged. No one answered my question that time, because it seems like no one knows exactly how this is calculated.

It would be nice if someone from GGS staff could shine some light on this issue.

It is simply a total of anything that has been constructed using the construction slots. I keep a close eye on the totals as I'm currently in 3rd place and I like to stay in the top three. Ruby buildings and decorations give a lot more buildings points than non-ruby buildings.

How the calculations are done is a mystery to me. It may be a conversion of the XP points gained in each construction but I think ruby building may have a higher calculation.

Individual players building points are updated fairly instantly on the rankings page.

The alliance building points is not an accurate total of all the members. I added up all my members building points and the rankings total was 2,500 less than than the actual figure.

Some info from GGS would be nice though.

Yes that is true, players with bunch of town houses, and premium buildings get more building points

I hate to shoot down your idea, but it doesn't work for me. I tried looking at a low level's castle and adding up the XP from their buildings, and looked at their building points, and the 2 numbers didn't seem to be related in any way. The building points were more than the XP from the buildings.

I have 108,166 XP and 20,691 building points so it's not XP/10.

I think that's well established. What we need to know is not what it isn't, but what it is. Does anyone have another theory?

[1384903] Baldrick (GB1) [None] :: Sept. 3, 2012, 3:04 p.m.
I just completed two level 10 dwellings. The XP points were +34 each but the increase in building points was +33 each. Pretty close really, I think the rankings round up and down to the nearest figure so they could be an exact match.

Please note that I have not undertaken any of the barrow sections in research.

I will complete barrows level 1 in a few days as a test to see if the building points increase with the XP points.

Yeah Bob, it is just a coincidence that it worked that way for me. Seemed like a likely theory at first, and I should have actaully said XP/1,000. That would have been the solution instead of by 10. But anyway it would be nice if a GGS staff member could provide assistance.
