How do I use the soldiers camped outside my castle?

If you mean stationed troops they can be used to defend your castle only. They will join your troops and defend your castle against any attacks.

You cannot use them for attacks as they still belong to whoever sent them to you. They also still eat the senders food, not yours.

There are currently two sets of soldiers in game right now.

Travelling Knights - attack robber barons and you may find a piece of the relic, once the relic is complete you will receive the reward at the bottom of that pop up.

Shadow mercenaries - cost rubies, dont eat from your main and you can attack someone without them knowing it was you
