Attack someone else and win.
On high levels, however, attacking a low levelled player with result in loss of honor most of the time

Honour points are gained and lost from both attacking and defending battles. The amount that you gain/lose is based on the honour and level of both of the affected players, and based on who wins.
There are several achievements for both getting a cumulative amount of honour and for getting a certain amount in a single battle. You also get a glory bonus based on it - the higher your honour, the higher the glory bonus.

I guess I have been doing it all wrong then. What you are trying to say is then, in order to gain roughly 500-1000 glory points in a battle, you need to go for a player with the most honour? Of course, being 7 or more levels above your own level helps too I guess?

Nope, it's based on YOUR honour

Nope, it's based on YOUR honourwhen you start the battle and see how much honour you would earn, next to it is the percentage bonus on your glory
So, the higher your honour, the better chance of getting more glory points? The higher your honour, the more of a target you'll be..lol!!!
