What determines the cost of sending out "the hunter"? It keeps changing the amount for the gold--I searched through a TON of threads with hunter as the keyword and not much help about it except that i have to be here when he returns. Is it the number of soldiers, dwellings,or my own level--i am just not sure.

I'm fairly sure that it's based on your own level.

The coins seem to be roughly the same as the amount of food you get.

You don't have to be anywhere when the hunter returns. It automatically gives the food to your main castle (you can go over your storage limit with this food) when the time is up.

So, what you are saying is that you are awarded the food when you come online after the time is up.

You still don't have to be online when the hunter comes back. You can sign on 2 days after that and will still receive the food, regardless of when it is actually added to the storage.

Really? In several other threads, players say you do not get it until you're online again
