What is the purpose of the outpost in the Everwinter?

Why are you unable to build any buildings on the Everwinter outpost to develop it?

Why are there so few/no outposts for those that are new to Everwinter?

Why is the resource output in the Everwinter castle limited to 2?

Why is it so expensive to transport resources to/from Everwinter? There is a 30% resources tax on what you transport from/to Everwinter.

Is it worth spending the time, resources, money and rubies to develop your castle in Everwinter?

If you ask me, it completely worth to have a good Castle on the everwinter glacier, that is my main source of rubies o_O, yes it is hard to develop it, but that is the game, the reduced amount of occupancy rate is because you have to get Villages, and the "lack" of free villages means you have to fight for them

The purpose of villages in Everwinter Glacier is to increase production. A food village increases your food production by 50%, while food and wood villages increases the production of those resources by 35%.

You are unable to build anything in these villages because there is nothing to build. They increase your production and that is it.

You can capture villages off other players. Most villages are already owned by players because they are incredibly valuable. Don't complain - a short time ago, the limit was 30 villages and now it's only a very small 15.

The maximum occupancy is limited to 2 to make it harder. This kingdom is supposed to be a challenge for players who have already had success in the main world. Again, don't complain - the limit just went up from 1 to 2 with wood and stone.

It is not expensive at all - the kingdom is supposed to be a challenge. They didn't make you pay coins, so they make you lose a few resources. They don't want to encourage you to send resources because you are supposed to produce them in Everwinter.

It is worth spending time, resources, coins and rubies in Everwinter. You get XP quests up to level 41 and rubies off some quests and the Everwinter equivalent of a robber baron, but most importantly, there is an NPC (non-player character) called a Barbarian Fortress. Attack it and win, and you will receive 10,000 coins and 150 rubies. You only need about 200 troops - heavy crossbowmen and two-handed swordsmen (or veterans if you have them).

Thanks Jade and Bob for your constructive feedback.

Hope i did not give the impression that i was complaining. I’m a newbie to Everquest and had a lot of questions.

I need to build up my farms and barracks. Then find some players with villages to attack.

There are still quite a few new villages popping up on the outskirts on EN1. You have to keep looking and be quick though. Tip of the day: I usually go for the farthest out villages first, people tend to go for the closest ones most of the time.

thanks Baldrick for your reply

Why go for the villages fathest out first? surely the closest ones would be the best ones to go for first!

No, when the new villages appear many players will try to get them. If someone gets there before you your troops will turn back when they arrive at the village. I find most of them will go for the closest villages first so I always go for the farthest. Seems to work for me.

That's exactly it! That's what everyone thinks, so everyone goes for the closest ones and they usually get there before you
