Seriously why is it so hard to gather enough wood? Is it just me or other have the same difficulty. May be i'm wrong somewhere ? I'm just about to hit lvl 8 and the long waiting for 50 stack of wood is killing me. I have 4 Wood workshops and the base wood production per hour is 39.7 [F-word] ;(

Wood production is much more lower than stone or food, your wood production will increase as you upgrade woodcutter.....

Wait till you get a bit higher level, it flips and suddenly you need a lot of stone!
I suggest you try to improve your public order if you are having problems producing enough resources.

I don't get it! I get 4 peices of wood every 10 minutes or something. I have 36 wood peices per hour and on top of that I have an overseer on my wood. I am level 8

decorations, towers and building upgrades increase your production & Dwellings reduce production
You need to hav a balance in order to achieve the goals of both.

I used to call this game Woodgame Empire.
It's designed that you'll always have a shortage of something until you reach about level 50.
It's like this to entice you to loot, swap resources, build more and spend rubies.
Things change eventually and It'll be stone you're short of.

Stone in your food?
You need to have a word with the cook.

Build five woodcutters in your main castle, and try to get a wood outpost, it'll be a huge help. I wouldn't worry too much about public order for now, just get it up to about 125% or so. PO becomes a much bigger deal later down the road once you unlock the park decoration. Also, try to find abandoned accounts around you to raid for resources(although if you still have your beginners protection, it'd be a good idea to wait until after that's expired).

Yeah, i'm slowly getting into the road for now. Sending my troops every 20mins to attack some outpost which works slow but it does. Thanks for the tips.

LOL
Back to topic.... At the lower levels, you need lots of wood. Build more decorations to keep up the public order and build towers. As Baldrick said, you will need stone later when you get higher in level. You might want to build a woodcutter if you can.

Like has been said, I have found no more than 8 resource buildings at my main does a nice trick, then level them as soon as the game allows it. Decorative items help and stack for public order with defenses, for upgrade walls and towers when possible, make sure all tower slots are built, fill the wall slots with defense tools. The sooner you have the cheap to make lvl 1 woodcutters, the better, then upgrade each to the next level in turns, it starts to make more per hour. I am easy enough to find on usa-1 player name here is same as on the map, if you want to see them in action. I keep mine in a 4x2 block as personal taste for appearances.

What I've found is you need lots of wood to get things started, then you need stone to get things to the final level. Once you get to the 3rd outpost stage, food is your big problem. But by that time your starting the Ice kingdom and the whole thing starts over, just more annoying, becuase ice Castle only gives you 2 100% fields!

Hey, I would not get an overseer cuz u have such low production all the overseer will do is eat up ur rubies.

Yeah, LordEssence is right - an overseer would be a waste at this stage.
Now, as for resource buildings, keeping 4 of each (apart from farmhouses) upgraded as you progress should be fine. Just bear in mind you'll have to get a 5th one for higher level quests, but that shouldn't be anything to worry about at this stage.
You may also want to plan for the future - my first outpost was a shiny food one (cuz I looked around the forums for tips) and at my current level, I'm really pleased with my decision due to a huge food production. As for wood, do NOT make the mistake of going for lots of wood ops, unless you're not expecting to make it to over level 25... xD

My strategy was to get a shiny wood outpost, build ten level 4 woodcutters in it, a marketplace, and not much else. It produced a lot of wood for me, I was able to level up quickly, got a shiny food/stone outpost for my second, a shiny food/wood for my third, then abandoned the wood outpost for another food/stone. Worked out pretty well for me.ProStrategos wrote: »You may also want to plan for the future - my first outpost was a shiny food one (cuz I looked around the forums for tips) and at my current level, I'm really pleased with my decision due to a huge food production. I've got 1 wood outpost and 1 stone outpost right beside my castle :P
It's pretty good if I need resources.
And I've also got a shiny food outpost not far away from my castle. It seems like I've been lucky.
Stone is very hard to get when you're in high levels, because to almost every building you use twice as much stone than wood. Pretty annoying sometimes

Yup, that works as well! But I've never had much of a problem with resources, and even if run out, I've always got my alliance.. ;D In addition, I'm more of the hard power type of player...
