I was just wondering if there's a way to trade resources with other players and how to do it if you can.

yes you can you need a marketplace at level 7 i think it is and when you upgrade it you get more room to send more resources

mail your nearby player and do a negotiation with him

to exchange resource < that is the way to do trade in this game >

how do you go about setting up trade? I can't seem to find a chat panel or anything that offers trade options.

The only way

Channel 1. Ally chat if it works..my ally chat is dead..no one is talking, so this one do not work with me

Channel 2. Go the world, click player u want, talk with him with mail...my mail system is also dead...no one response...it seems my mail are extreme poision...so this one do not work with me

Channel 3...no idea, not so familiar with this game, ask other player

Channel final ... ask "game developer" to open a channel to public to talk

my channels are dead !!! But it does not mean your channel is dead....go to have a try...good luck
