Topic: [77682] Research Tower: Forced March

[-77682] Eric768 (US1) [US1] :: Sept. 28, 2012, 2:18 p.m.
Hello all, I unlocked the research tower about 3 weeks ago, and I have mainly been focused on my econemy with pitsaw, 3 field crop rotation, things like that.

I was wondering what exactly the forced march does, its description is:
"Increases the travel Speed of units you redeploy"

Does this mean that if I have used a unit once, deploying him again will increase his speed? I doubted that is it, so I figure it means just in general, the troops move faster.
Some clarification would be appreciated.

Increases the traveling speed between your castle and your outposts. Not sure if does the same for main and rvs.

ps: it has been answered before, not too long ago ... there is a search function and if that gives you too many results, you can try advanced search where you specify the forum to search for the key word

What this research does is that it increases the speed of your own troops between your castles and resource villages.

The alliance support speed only affects travel between alliance members but not between your own castles.

This is very handy when supporting yourself, especially in the new kingdoms.

It's also very handy if you don't have an alliance and therefor no alliance support speed increase.

I don't think that the alliance support speed decreases the time spent to travel bewteen your castles / outposts / resource villages, because at those places you don't send support but you station your troops. (unlike alliance members' castles / outposts / resource villages , where you don't station your troops but send support)

EDIT: disregard first part. You did say castles (but read castle) and an ouposts is a Castle after all

Yeah, sorry I should have used the term "station" instead of "support".

And I tend to call my outposts castles as they are fully built.

I am not talking about the term. I am just saying that if someone is in an alliance, whether their 'alliance support speed' upgrade is 0% or 100%, the time it will take you to travel between your own castles/RVs, remains unchanged. I think...

Yeah I meant that too, I just completely messed it up. You are absolutely correct. I think I've been eating too many turnips.

Alright thank you Baldrick. I noticed the increase with my castle to castle speed of stationing troops, and wondered if it did the same for support to alliance members. Though it doesn't increase it, it would be very helpful if it did ;)
