They will show you but if you want to change it it will cost gems.
My in game name is JinxStone52. I am the leader of The Gold Shield Alliance and we are looking for members (preferred if able to give gems to the alliance so we can get more members but anyone can join) it is a fairly new alliance but we would like to make it the best so please join.

Can we please not use this thread to advertise alliances? Go post in the right section.

Ujuu2, when you start, after following some guided steps, you have the option to choose the coat of arms you want. You can choose colours and pictures for 4 or 2 different sections.

This coat of arms will appear on various places - your profile, for example. It also affects some things like the colour of your flag on the castle and the colour of buildings e.g. the windmill on the level 3 flour mill.

After you have chosen your coat of arms and started the game, you have the option to change it at any point for a cost of 2500 rubies.

Rubies are a type of gem...

There are no other type of gemstones in-game to be confused with so how it is referred to doesn't matter. If you are going to be condescending to someone at least do it correctly.

This essentially answers the question. If you were instead meaning to ask for help designing your heraldry, I would recommend that you observe the rule of tincture which, to summarize, states you shouldn't place metal on metal (yellow and white on top of each other) nor colour on colour (red, blue, green, purple and so forth on each other).
