Whats the point. I see it doing more harm than good.
-What if you sent your attack to the wrong castle or forgot something and dont catch it early?
-What if your target no longer gives honor by the time of attack?
-What if you simply want to stop an attack for whatever reason...
-What if you become friends with that target during an attack? lol? 0.o
The point being, I dont see why we need this. The only negative to removing it is that people would be able to pull an attack at the last minute if they wanted to, which isnt really a problem. Should simply be an increase in coins to pull troops back the further the distance rather than denying the request all together. I should be able to abort my attack whenever rather than be forced to attack. Now, unless I am missing an update to where you can call back soldiers at anytime, I think they should change this. What Do You Think?

well in real life if one your army were out to long you wouldn't be able to call them back because the army would be to far away so they could not hear you.

To prevent people abusing it.
-What if you sent your attack to the wrong castle or forgot something and dont catch it early?
Then your an idiot for not noticing the mistake. Really, who sends an attack to the wrong castle seeing as they would need to have the exact defenses and formation in order to be muddled up.
-What if your target no longer gives honor by the time of attack?
I suppose it would be the same logic in when you send an attack to a Barbarian Fortress or Resource village - tough luck, and come sooner next time.
-What if you simply want to stop an attack for whatever reason...
Then you have a limited time to do so, you can't just pull out in the last second to avoid the consequences like.. yeah best if I don't finish that sentence if you catch my drift.
-What if you become friends with that target during an attack? lol? 0.o
Then apologize and explain how you can no longer bring back your troops. If he is truly your "friend" he would understand.
My initial point regarding it being exploited is that one could send an attack and then send a second espionage just before the attack hit to witness whenever or not the player in online and has made any adjustments to formations or brought about reinforcements. If you don't fancy your chances you can just retreat in the last minute, it would eliminate any contingency for failure.

Actually, you can cancel support troops whenever you want, so the out of ear shot argument is invalid.
Here's the reason you can't cancel after 10 minutes:
If you could bring your troops back anytime people could use this as a tactic. Launch several attacks on members of an alliance, wait until the attacks show up on their radars, let them send support then launch new attacks to the supporters castles and cancel the original attacks just before they arrive leaving the supporters castles unprotected.
This is the reason you cannot bring your troops back from attacks after 10 minutes.
If you want to attack, attack.
If you don't, then don't.

I understand the logic behind not being able to recall at the last minute. People do make mistakes, i.e. sending an attack to the wrong location may happen. Or sending an attack to an RV that is already being attacked by another player. What happens your attack moves forward on the RV? Ten minutes is too short it should be based on the distance traveled in relation to the target. Maybe it would be better to establish a point of no return at the 1/2 or 3/4 way mark rather than a time frame. That would give attackers some edge but not much, defenders would still have time to adjust their defense for any second or third waves.
