Is it inevitable that you lose soldiers while vsing a resource village that is not taken by a player?
I sent 23 travelling knights on a flank and lost one of them.
Granted, I did not use tools but it was 23 travelling knights verses 38 farmers.

Did you factor in the wall level of the RVs. It boost farmers defenses.... Plus, one lucky (or unlucky) pitchfork prong through the visor will see even the most stoic Traveling knight go down.

I think there was a 20% bonus on the wall, but still it's the strongest unit versing the weakest unit, well apart from the prince ;).

it's not so much of how many units you loose but winning the rv race and getting there first. it pays cutting down the soldiers you send , so you can send out more squads and in turn the chances of winning the race(s) increase

by cutting down ofc, you will loose more. but i don't think many ppl worry about how many soldiers they loose as long as they grab that rv

sometimes it doesn't matter how many soldiers you send, whether they are 2 handers or traveling knights. you will still end up loosing a portion of the army. that especially happens with level 10 and above rbc. someone will need to waste insanely huge amount of gold in order to save a soldier or two, which in turn is counterproductive.

It's not that I'm worried about losing soldiers, it's just that I'm curious as to why I actually lost a soldier due to the large attacking power of travelling knights verses the poor defence of the farmers.

It's actually a 40% wall bonus.

I've been wondering if farmers defend better on a capture attack, it seems that unless you outnumber them and use tools you will always lose something.

For example, if you attack a level 1 RBC with 1 maceman, you won't lose anything: even amount of troops, 20% wall bonus. if you attack a RV with 25 2HS against like 30 farmers; you outnumber farmers if 2HS were converted to macemen, with only a 40% defense bonus, so you should'nt lose anyone: but you do.

Does anyone else think that's odd?
