This is proably a question for a moderator
Is there a minumum age limit to play this game?
I ask because I recently captured an outpost from another player. The other player "owned" the outpost but did little or nothing to protect it for a day or so. I know this because I sent spies twice to keep an eye on it. When the outpost remained unprotected, I attacked and captured it. The previous owner and a few other alliance members, as expected, attacked the out post and my main castle. They did some damage but in the end, I retained ownership of the out post. To me, this was completely within the rules of the game. I played fair and won.
The alliance leader called me a coward and indicated that the previous owner of the outpost is an 8 year old, another alliance member is 6, and that I should somehow feel ashamed about capturing the outpost.
First of all, why would anyone allow kids that young to play this or any other online rpg? Second, I question the judgement of anyone who would tell a complete stanger online the ages of two specific players who are that young.
So far, I've interacted with players who appear to be adults or possily teenagers. As a rule I don't divulge or request any personal info.
If there is a minimum age how is it enforced?

16 seems old enough to make reasonably good decisions and know when something seems creepy. 6 or 8? to me that's a little scary. way too many pervs out there.

well it would have to take a hacker to find out anything more than how old you are if not told

that's probably true. However, letting a kid that young play an online rpg just seems wrong. Too much could happen. Maybe I'm just overprotective.

Bahahaha.
You people sure do crack me up. Has someone been watching too much anti-gaming propaganda or something?

I would have to agree with S.A.M.C.R.O. on this issue, I mean that's why they try to enforce age restrictions on other sites where you could accidentally share vital information, such as Facebook; you're not supposed to be under 13 on Facebook.
I think since this is just a game it could possibly be lowered to 10, but most kids even that old don't understand what is and isn't information they should share, so I think S.A.M.C.R.O. has a very good point here.

The question is should a 6 year old allowed to use the internet or not?
I would say maybe, I've seen many parents here that play with their kids, maybe in different alliances but there is some control in this case.

I agree, children could easily be "harmed' by this. In a game I used to play, it's like if you're under 13 you cant use open chat and actually type to other players, but what fun would that be?

I am one of those parents. my son is not allowed to talk to anyone, on line, he does not no off line. he is only young so some parents are keeping an eye on what their childreen are upto. but i do understaned your concerns

Doubt it, I suppose shows such as CSI and Law & Order with dozens of pedophile oriented episodes has numbed down the shock.
Firstly, you need a email to sign up to the game so presuming that they use their parent or guardians email you would presume they would be responsible enough to educate usage over the internet regarding potential chat-rooms or multi-player games. Lets say his parents are complete morons and don't say anything. How do you expect an 8 year old child playing this game to be in danger? The clear majority don't know their addresses, only way I can foresee any trouble happening is if he uses his email (assuming he has one) to send a picture of himself and gives his home address or school name. Even then, it would require quite the dedicated pedophile - probably better MMOs for that intent anyway.

all it takes is a last name and DOB and they can find quite a bit of info on you, and many kids don't mind mentioning their birth date and their last name.
Many parents don't pay attention to what their kids play on the computer if all they know is that it's a game; and just cause you can work an e-mail doesn't mean you know what information not to give out on the internet.
I personally had some random "girl" start chatting with me over the forum inbox. After I made it clear I wouldn't give out my last name or DOB, the chatting immediately stopped. So there are people like that even on here.

Then again, there are problems with minimum age. GGS would then require everyone to put in their age when they sign up, and some people are protective of their personal info. I'd say play at your own risk, but you shouldn't feel bad if they are really young because this is a war game, and this is what's supposed to happen. Also they can just capture another outpost down the line.

I fully agree that there needs to be an age limit. Children are vulnerable. It is up to the rest of us to protect them.

Look, it depends on the parent. But you know what, I don't care. If I take someone else's outpost, but there only 6 years old, do I give a crap. NO, I don't. ANYWAYS, PEOPLE COULD LIE. YOU KNOW, YOU SAY SOMEONE IS 9 YEARS OLD WHEN HES ACTUALLY 5, OR HES ACTUALLY 90.

how would they enforce an age restriction anyway?
